I said yes, now for the rest: Color & Found Treasures

Pin It Now!

Conversations in my household currently sound like this:

Thom:  Would you like some dinner?
Me: Yes.  And what should we have at the reception?
Thom:  Goodnight, love you.
Me:  What are your thoughts on {insert color/theme/wacky idea here}?
Thom:  Need me to dry those dishes?
Me:  How do you feel about washing, drying, storing, transporting 350 pieces to Michigan?

I'm  L O V I N G  my Wedding Pinterest Board.  One glance and you can see the colors I am drawn to: warm shades of ivory, browns, and corals dominate.

Inspired by some sweet fabric {although it's not the greatest quality} I found while flea-ing, throw in some mustard yellow and I'm a happy girl.

In other finds:  I'm toying with the idea of vintage, mis-matched dishes for the reception.  I found a few places in Michigan that rent but the cost is somewhere around $2 a plate.  So, wouldn't be it be more economical to just thrift and find them for fifty cents to a dollar per plate?  Of course, Thom pointed out washing, storing, transporting costs, but I still think it's a good idea.  And, fun.  And, I have a whole year {maybe more?} to collect.  What do you think?

Instantly fell in love with this pattern I found last weekend so they came home with me.

Also  L O V I N G:  flea markets/thrift stores/antiques places that have layaway.  How cool is that?  Currently have a vintage typewriter being held for me at a steal!  Is it strange that I think of this thing multiple times a day?  True story.

So, I think I've formulated a color scheme and theme but I'm totally claiming my right to change my mind.  Hopefully, it won't be in the middle of this whole wedding planning process.  And, hopefully, I won't become the dreaded bridezilla.

  1. i ADORE the mismatched idea. i actually have spent an evening or two (ot...way more than that) on ebay scoping out tea cups and those white jars to use at my wedding one day. i feel like they're worth it instead of renting. and then you wouldn't have to register for plates! :)
